2026 winter & spring wrapped: new art workspace, life updates, music & nostalgia <3
HELLO & welcome to my 2026 winter & spring recap!! <3
Honestly, this year has been such a productive one already when it comes to my artsy life & in the past 6 months I actually got to check off a few small goals that I wrote down for myself at the end of 2025, which feels very wholesome. So before I fully switch into summer mode, I thought it would be cute to do a tiny recap of this year so far x
First, I prepared a fun & eclectic mixtape
The first & biggest goal: I finally found the courage to start a brand new art account: @girlfringe<3
I've wanted to do it since 2024, but I kept overthinking it and feeling scared of starting from zero again. New beginnings can be intimidating, especially when you've already built something before, but I kept telling myself that 2026 would be the year of having more fun with my art. So... I did it!!
<3 life updates <3
I spent some time making my little home workspace cuter and cozier. I firmly believe that a tiny desk makeover can somehow trick your brain into wanting to create more & it actually worked haha. I also bought a printer to get to print my shop stuff without the stress of going to the print shop every time or keep big stocks around the house. I cannot express how much easier and lightweight it feels to get to test papers, colors and make everything more high-quality and professional than before. I LOVE IT & highly recommend investing in a good printer if you’re an artist and you want to make lots of stationery goods with your art. xx
On the personal life side of things, this year I started working out more & tried to customize my daily schedule a bit because I found myself getting exhausted way more easily than before. I guess turning 27 hits hard when you've been living with the chaotic daily routine of your 20yo self, lol.
I went out a lot this winter and got to enjoy the SNOW, which was such a blast <333 I went to a bunch of concerts too and spent more time hanging out with my friends in the city, which made me reconnect with my love for photography. Seeing so many amazing (& very aesthetic) places that scream to be photographed made me want to got back at it more seriously. I always say I'm going to invest as much time into it as I do into drawing, but somehow I always end up drawing... and rarely photographing lol :-)))
By the end of spring, I kind of set this little goal for myself: to dive deeper into photography this year. We'll see in my end of the year recap if I actually manage to stick to it or not, haha.
Until then, here are some out & about pics from these past months xx
<3 artsy life recap <3
In terms of creating, I can honestly say this year has already topped the amount of projects I made in 2024 and 2025 combined, which is kind of insane when I think about it ??? I just feel so inspired and full of creative juice right now & I really hope it stays that way all year!!! <3
The first thing I've been really enjoying is making more zines and one-page comics. I've wanted to explore this format for what feels like forever (seriously, I don't even remember since when) and it has quickly become one of my favorite ways to tell tiny stories <3 It's been such a fun challenge creatively aaaand I already have so many ideas I can't wait to turn into stationery goods.
As for my one piece illustrations, the last few months have been all about music, friendship & y2k nostalgia. Music has always been a huge part of my art, I was constantly sneaking in posters, guitars and little music-related details into my illustrations… but lately I've kind of made it the main focus and I LOVE IT. It just feels so me!!!
I also wanted to push my visual style and technique a bit further by experimenting with more shading and, of course... animated illustrations <3
Another very special project I worked on this year is of course my ‘Girlies’ Coloring Book, which I’m very proud of <3333
new hobby unlocked: handmade badges <3
Maybe the most exciting thing I worked on this spring !!!!!
Ever since I was a teen, I've had this love for badges. I always thought they were so cooI & I've always associated them with music culture, DIY artists and indie alternative creative spaces. So I finally invested in a badge machine, which is surprisingly good for its price?? And the whole making process is just so easy and fun!!
The only downside is that I haven't had enough time to make as many designs as I wanted, but I've decided that's going to be one of my summer projects, especially making lots of themed sets, yay! I LOVE BADGES!!!! <3
my frist sticker set???
It feels SO weird to say this, but I realized I've been doing art for 8 years now and somehow never made sticker designs?!?! (besides the little logo stickers I use for packaging, lol).
I think that's partly because stickers are a bit trickier to manufacture & I don't have a sticker printer at home… but then one random day in April I made these designs and thought, yk what??? it’s time for stickers !!!! haha.
i <3 did <3 a <3 home <3 photoshoot <3
And last but not least, one of the most fun & creative things I did this year was this girly self-portrait photoshoot I made back in February, where I tried to portray myself as a girl straight out of my illustrations: lots of pink, guitars, girly accessories & my art all over the place.
Then I turned it into a fun collage called ‘Bedroom Pop Manifesto’. I love how it turned out aaaand I 100% plan on making more of these <333
I’m honestly very proud of everything I created so far this year & I’M SO EXCITED for what’s to come <3
See u at summer recap blog post !!
xoxo
